Call it fate or twist of life. But I find it rather odd, that now that I am out of National Service, the rest of my friends are in. The best part is, they all enlisted near my ORD. Two of my friends even enlisted on my ORD day! When I first went in, they were saying,  ”thank God it’s not my turn yet”. Now they must be thinking, “why wasn’t my turn earlier?”. We used to hang out. Now with everyone inside, it’ll be hard to do so. However National Service isn’t the main reason for us not being close anymore.

It’s a natural habit to rely on and have expectations of friends. Which often leads to disappointment. My case is no different. In my clique, when an outing is proposed, there are those who have unique replies or reaction. One of them, finds it absolutely hard to go out, unless his other friend is coming along.  It goes to the point of him not wanting to come along if the other is not coming.  Then there is another guy, whose stubbornness shapes his character. When an outing is proposed, he always turns up one or two hours later. He doesn’t realize how irritating it is, instead he choses to just laugh it off. He also fails to turn up at events he promises to turn up for.

Such people take their friends for granted expecting them to just let it pass by easily.

So, to think about it, it doesn’t make much of a difference whether my friends are inside or outside.

Every Man For Himself.

After doing some ‘research’, I can’t find one that does both. (If anyone does, then leave it as a comment)

I go for the latter.

If the music is played loud enough, and the earphones fits well, then I don’t see the need for noise insulation.

At the moment, arguably, the best Brands are Monster and Bose.

However, as an Iphone user, I need  earphones with mic.

So, Monster is out – currently they don’t come with mics.

This is the Bose Mie2i Earphones. Costs $235 In Singapore.

So why am I going for an expensive pair of earphones? Well my previous 2 were cheap and didn’t last me long.

So I rather spend a good sum on something that will last long and provide Great Quality service.

It’s an investment.

To start things off, I finally ORD-ed. Completed my national service. Yea Yea Yea Yea YEAAAH!

I must admit, as much as I’m not a huge fan of NS, I’m still grateful for the valuable lessons and priceless experiences I’ve received. Most were of course learnt and experienced the hard way. Engaging in certain practices or course of action, that we normally don’t in our civilian lives. It was a long wild ride that has finally came to an end. I truly agree with the notion of NS Turning Boys To Men. From the dirty and tough days of Field Camp, to the wild firings of weapons, as well as the freedom from Exam Stress. The memories I have from NS will be with me till I die.

Now that Ns is over, I have to sit for my SAT – the only hope to make it to the 3 Local Us. So I have to start mugging again. To say is different from doing though. Thus, I rather use the time I have for the short-stories for my SAT. But rest assured I will start writing the stories before the year ends.
